Switzerland is launching a diplomatic effort to open itself to banks and asset managers. It sees Brexit as an opportunity. It has listed the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain as priority countries for new arrangements. The Swiss government also plans to remove barriers for technology companies. The Swiss see an opportunity to gain, in the UK, “a good partner outside the EU with a similar stance regarding open markets and a similar regulatory philosophy,” according to the Swiss Bankers Association.
